D-Backs Philosophy

About The D-Back Softball Program

Updated Wednesday August 9, 2017 by Robert Elkins .

The D-Backs are a Port Washington based Softball program.  We were formed for the simple reason that we wanted to provide local area girls the chance to play real competitive Fast-Pitch Softball.  All we try to do is get as many girls on the field as possible and teach them the right way to play the wonderful sport of softball.

Our program is open to anyone that wants to play regardless of location, experience, ability, finances, or any other program you may be part of.  We simply want you to play as much as possible.

We field teams in the Spring, Summer, and Fall Seasons.

We have never turned away a Port Washington girl that wanted to play.

We have never played an intra-mural schedule.  As our program grows, we will field multiple teams at the same age and enter them in competitive leagues.

All our teams are coached by professional coaches, not volunteer parents.  All our teams have volunteer assistants so the parents can stay involved.  Every person that works with our kids undergoes a background check so children's safety is never an issue.

We play an aggressive schedule of at least 20 games per team per season.  Spend a full year with us and you'll play about 75 games; and won't believe how much better you are than when you started!

We are a Babe Ruth / Cal Ripken sanctioned program and play by ASA rules.

Every game is controlled by an adult, certified umpire.

We don't make cuts, we make players!
